A Study on the Characteristics of Dynamic Behavior of Waste Landfill by 1g Shaking Table

Abstract

In this study, the Compacted Earth Method was applied to reinforce the slopes within a waste landfill. To examine the dynamic behavior of the study area, the behavior of the soil was analyzed using a 1g shaking table. According to the analysis of Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) by depth using the 1g shaking table, the amplification rate of PGA from the bottom to the top before reinforcement was 27.74% in the first row, 33.76% in the second row, and 36.23% in the third row. When reinforcing with 10m of compacted earth, the amplification rates decreased to 27.74% in the first row, 32.96% in the second row, and 27.21% in the third row. With 15m of compacted earth reinforcement, the amplification rates were 22.91% in the first row, 31.07% in the second row, and 19.06% in the third row. These results indicate that the amplification of seismic waves was lower with 10m and 15m reinforcements compared to no reinforcement, and particularly, with 15m reinforcement, the seismic wave amplification was further reduced compared to 10m reinforcement. This suggests that using compacted earth for reinforcement more effectively reduces seismic wave amplification, thereby improving the safety of soil-structure systems.

본 연구에서는 폐기물매립지 내 사면에 대한 보강을 위하여 압성토 공법을 적용하고자 하였다. 연구대상지역의 동적거동을 확인하고자 1g 진동대를 이용한 지반의 거동을 확인하고자 하였다. 1g 진동대를 활용한 깊이별 PGA(Peak Ground Acceleration) 분석결과, 보강 전 하부에서 상부로의 PGA 증폭율은 첫 번째 열에서 27.74%, 두 번째 열에서 33.76%, 세 번째 열에서 36.23% 증폭하였다. 압성토 10m 보강시 첫 번째 열의 증폭율이 27.74%, 두 번째 열은 32.96%, 세 번째 열은 27.21%로 감소하였다. 압성토 15m 보강시 첫 번째 열에서는 22.91%, 두 번째 열에서는 31.07%, 세 번째 열에서는 19.06%의 증폭율을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 10m와 15m 보강시 보강하지 않았을 때보다 지진파의 증폭율이 낮게 나타나며, 특히 15m 보강 시에는 10m를 보강했을 때보다도 지진파의 증폭이 더욱 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 성토재를 이용한 보강이 지진파 증폭을 더욱 효과적으로 감소시켜 지반구조물의 안전성을 향상시킨다고 판단된다.
